Keep Austin Beautiful Love Where You Live Day November Clean Up with Central Williamson Creek Advocates Creek Adopters & South Austin Creek Alliance
We will be working to clean up the section of the creek we adopted to honor the legacy and continue the stewardship of Tom Donovan. We will also be honoring the memory of Jimmy Somma who sadly passed away recently. Jimmy has selflessly volunteered at every cleanup for the last 4 years to care for his neighborhood creek. Please join us to honor these great men.
Williamson Creek runs through the heart of our neighborhood. The Central Williamson Creek Advocates Creek Adopters, an Adopt-a-Creek Group, and the South Austin Creek Alliance will meet at the curb by the Emerald Wood Community Garden/Tom Donovan Nature Trail at Williamson Creek Central Greenbelt at 611 Emerald Wood Drive and walk down to Williamson Creek together. We will have trash bags and pickup tools available to borrow. Please register via the GivePulse website, so we know who to expect and so we can show your involvement. This work day will focus on trash removal from Williamson Creek. Parking is on-street, so carpooling is recommended if possible. There is Poison ivy in the area, so you may want to wear pants and bring your work gloves. Please wear closed-toe shoes. Hope to see y’all there!
