Marion, Tommy, Alex, Megan, and Kelly

Kelly Nalle (President)

A lifelong Texan, Kelly moved to Austin in 1999 and settled in Southwood in 2009 when she fell in love with a Live Oak.  You may have met her while she was pushing books at BookPeople, or slinging plants at The Great Outdoors and Barton Springs Nursery.  She lives in a bungalow with her husband and a tiny army of cats and small dogs, and believes that no matter how much Austin grows, it still feels like a small town.

Alex Cyphus (Vice President)

Alex is an import from across the pond, moving from the UK to Austin in 2018, and has been a big fan of South Austin ever since. Alex landed in Southwood in 2024 and loves the vibes, community, and plant life—all enjoyed on a daily walk through the neighborhood. In his spare time you’ll find him zooming around on a cargo bike, nerding out over home automation and data, or working in the garden.

Marion Marion (Treasurer)
Marion had set her sights on Southwood while living in an apartment behind Target, and was thrilled to land on Redd Street in 2008. Her most favorite thing about Southwood is the sense of community. She loves tending her front yard garden and waving to and chatting with neighbors as they walk by.

Tommy (Officer-at-Large)

Born and raised in South Texas, I moved to Austin for school in 2009 and never looked back. My wife, Sarah, and I met at UT and eventually settled in Southwood in 2016. We’ve always loved the calm vibes here, especially as we connect with more of the young families moving in. If you see us out walking with our two kids and our corgi, Pepper, I’ll be sure to send a wave your way - it’s a Texas habit I’ll never outgrow.

Megan Venable (Secretary)

Howdy! I’ve lived in Southwood since October 2000, and you may have seen me & my partner Stuart walking with our coffees every weekday morning. I love the beautiful, mature trees, vibrant flowers, and all the critters in the neighborhood (especially cats). When I’m not taking minutes at Southwood meetings, I’m most likely reading, knitting, cooking, biking around town, or hanging out with my void kitty, Pongo.
